Stadiums in ShimogaThe district of Shimoga consists of three main cricket stadiums namely Jawaharlal Nehru College of Engineering Cricket Ground, Nehru Stadium and Sagar Stadium. In the year 1974, the first match was played in the Nehru Stadium and since 1973, there have been 13 matches played in the stadium out of which 3 matches were Ranji Trophy matches. There is another cricket stadium namely VISL cricket stadium located at Bhadravathi. Shimoga also possesses an indoor stadium for various kinds of sports like basketball, volleyball and handball.
